Westmalle Tripel
Wheaty, clean, fruits. medicinal. Like a really strong hefeweizen? I feel like people might say there are bananas, but I don't believe it.

Hitachino Nest Ginger
Weird. I really think if Kataja's lammin was carbonated, this would be it. The juniper is still there, and I have trouble finding the ginger it didn't tell me.
Delirium Tremens
Leffe-y in its sweet honey-ness. I think the yeast had settled a bit too much, and the initial taste was more a bite of metallic acidity. I think this could be a favorite if the yeast was better mixed.
Hitachino Nest Ginger Brew
Crazy unique. The ginger taste is there but subtle. The flavor is too unique to compare it to others. It's more of a novel basic taste that you compare other things to. I could drink it all day, though. MM SO TASTY!
Ommegang Chocolate Indulgance Stout
Definitely an Ommegang. Drinkable for sure. Watery, maybe a bit. Detrimental to the experience, only mildly. Chocolaty and stouty, less so. Worth spending money on? Nah..
Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout
The only well-rounded espresso stout I have yet encountered. Rich in flavor, but not to the point where it's syrupy. If you don't like espresso or chocolate stouts, you should totally try it.
O'Doul's Amber Lager
Yeah Man! It's totally like we're not getting drunk! Tastier than expected - very sweet. Not tasty enough to function sans alcohol. It's like a plane without a pilot.. or something. Maybe. I dunno. SHUT UP! Stop making fun of me!

Voodoovator
Are all doppelbocks like this? Some really strange artificial and synthesized overtones. If they were any stronger, it'd be no good. As it is, an oddly balanced concoction.
Lindeman's Framboise Lambic
A reminder of how subtle beer actually is, this is basically liquid raspberries in a barnyard.

Chocolate Indulgence Stout
The initial hit of alcohol seems to be very in the Ommegang style, it's nice. Almost like a stout trying to be a dubbel or tripel. The chocolate-ness is kind of secondary.
Hitachino Nest Espresso Stout
It's not just full like "oh that's nice and flavorful", but it forces flavor on you. It's a fireball that explodes and keeps rushing forward. Bitter, but only the way espresso is bitter.
O'Douls Amber Lager
Better than expected, but I guess that's what happens when you have incredibly low expectations. The aftertaste isn't terrible, but the metallic thinness/wateriness on the first bite isn't very kind.

UFO Hefeweizen
A little tart, slightly thin, classically wheaty hefeweizen. Brian says it's too epoxy-ish, but he just had a candycane so I don't trust him.

Rochefort 6
Sharp, and then super earthy with a dull chocolate or coffee bitterness. Hints of wheat in the background, but the earthiness is the main thing. A little simpler than the 8. Apple.
2/24/09: I taste not as much bitterness this time, and more spiciness. I don't know if I can rank the 6/8/10, every time I have one of them again I feel like it's my favorite.

Corsendonk Pater
Reminds me of surfing and San Diego cars for some reason. A nice oaky, earthy taste with lighter fruit overtones. Hints of bitterness and wheat.
Bush De Noël
The 12% is all in the first half second. Kind of quad-ish, some fruit, but with wheatier notes shining through at the end. I don't taste the Christmas so much.

Maredsous Dubbel
I feel like I've had this before. It's very similar to one of the previous posts, but I can't remember which. A little bitter, nutty, sightly medicinal and flowery. A bit of molasses sugaryness.

Maredsous Tripel
Starts a little strong, goes flowery, berries, and finishes with some wheat. Seems a little stronger near the bottom. Complimented by a peanut + squash sauce I happened to have.

Weyerbacher Merry Monks
Bubblegummy. Pleasant at first, but one dimensional by the end.
2/4/09: I taste more now. Still incredibly vinous and sweet, but there is a lot of fruit, too. There is something vaguely chocolate-y/earth-y about the aftertaste on the back of the tongue that reminds me of a wet dog. It's really nice, surprisingly. Should probably be paired with a cheese, or a big meal where it's drunk in large sips.

Chimay White
I didn't taste the complexity of the Chimay Blue. Seems bitter for a tripel, but not overwhelmingly so.
May 7th, 2009: I didn't really understand this at the time. Has some tart-sourness, very grape-juicey vinous characteristics, a little spice and a very smooth body.

Leffe Vieille Cuvée
A friend of the olives. I imagine more berries and citrus here, maybe a little more medicinal and less sweet than the blonde.

Delirium Nocturnum
A lot like the Saxo, but more even. There is no time-domain variation in this one, it's absolutely unwavering.

Rochefort 8
Looks like: once you've poured the yeast, a cappuccino. Tastes like: everything all at once.
Leffe Blonde
The first beer I had in Paris. I feel like the head is somehow the quintessential beer head. Probably the sweetest beer I've ever tasted, with some fruity and sugary overtones. If you let it get to warm it loses some appeal.

Hitachino Nest Weizen
Seems a little light for a hefeweizen. But the spirit is the same as the others, so it's just as enjoyable.

SkullSplitter
Vaguely reminiscent of the Lammin Kataja Olut near the bottom. Smokey and sweet, with an intensely medicinal carbonation. You really need a single sip, but nothing more. I could finish half a bottle at some point in the distant future.
SkullSplitter
I dreaded every sip of this beer. The flavor does not entirely balance out the "oh my god my gums! - it hurts!" factor
Xingu
Next to marinara tastes like camping wet dog. on its own - ..kind of buttery. In taste, not texture. I mean. you know. like french toast. ...I'm drunk.
Koestritzer Schwarzbier
"Smells like a rotting garden" Tastes like black. Like pink candy tastes like pink. And green candy tastes like your female parent. (apologies to those with two daddies or otherwise motherless) [ponders origin of term: "motherless swine"]
Xingu Black
Definitely a schwarzbier derivative. A little more flowery and sweet, slightly less watery.
Koestritzer Schwarzbier
Androgynous label leads to a light liquid. The most bitterness I think I care for before needing cheese. I can imagine Goethe drinking this and reflecting on color theory. It's black.

La Rossa
First of the Italians. Kind of wish it was the last. Curious as to what other Italian's interpretation of "beer" is, though.
Fermented Crispix. ..is my analogy to this beer.

Anderson Valley ESB (extra special brew)
mmm!! that's nice. tastes like ..prunes.
10 minutes later as we start pushing our record for time spent drinking a single beer: ..can I change my answer?

Midas Touch
More desert-y? The longest-developing beer yet, it starts off grapey, moves towards a bitter hoppiness, and the barley finale kicks in about 10 seconds in.

Tire Bite Golden Ale (Flying Dog)
Compared to all the other half-assed stuff Flying Dog Pees at consumers, it's pretty tasty. Wheaty without being too sweet.
Tire Bite Golden Ale
Starts off wonderfully doughy, finishes a bit metallic. What is it? Copper? Aluminum? Iron? Name your metals, man.

Raison D'etre (Dogfish Head)
Teriyaki bacon cheeseburger gone breakfast sandwich with a drizzle of maple syrup.
In other words f-ing delicious.

Milk Stout (Left Hand Brewing Co)
Opens like a brie-tasting lager; lives like burnt/smoked applesauce; dies like cough syrup.
It's an ongoing simile of not-so-good.

Red Rocket Ale
Like a hoppy stout? I don't know the names for these things really. I can taste the fruitiness. A flowery belch.
Red Rocket Ale
Drink it and try not to think about Tootsie Pops - I dare you!
..it's like Necco tried to make beer.
It's a 3-stager: Beer! Flat soda? Hops..
Drink it quick enough to belch - you won't be disappointed.

Hoptical Illusion
Erm.. Nothing terribly special. They put more hops in. Good for them.
Balanced well enough to drink quickly, though. Beware!

Hoptical Illusion
I think I tasted a vague hint of starch somewhere? Tasty otherwise. Kind of over the top.

Blue Point (wannabe) Blueberry
Artificial ester-ific.
Tastes like if Dunkin Donuts tried to brew beer in their muffin tins.
